Hong Kong has become the latest market in which Health and Beauty retailer, Watsons, is partnering with L’Oreal on a recycling initiative. The program is expanding to Hong Kong following success in Taiwan, Thailand and Indonesia.
In Taiwan, Watsons has worked with Maybelline to set up recycling bins in stores alongside a charity initiative where Maybelline will donate to sustainability platform Re-Think for every empty bottle that is recycled
In Thailand, Watsons’ customers can recycle their plastic bottles at the Garnier Refund Machine in selected stores and earn a free Garnier Pink Micellar Water. In Indonesia, they have also collaborated with Garnier to encourage customers to recycle plastic bottles at Watsons stores.
In Hong Kong, Watsons has partnered with L’Oréal to create the Beauty for the Future recycling campaign. The program allows customers to recycle the packaging of any beauty brand at 170 stores across the city in exchange for rewards on the loyalty platform MoneyBack. The goal is to collect 250,000 containers in the 12 months following the official launch.
